SAM LAKEMAN
Bio//
Born in 1975 into a family of music and growing up on the fringes of Dartmoor, UK, Sam is a supremely talented pianist and acoustic guitar player, an experienced producer, engineer, song arranger and composer.
Having spent the last 27 years almost exclusively working with his wife, the celebrated Irish singer Cara Dillon, Sam has produced, co-written and arranged all 7 of Cara's albums and continues to perform live alongside her all over the World, his sensitive arrangements and production being paramount in helping her earn incredible critical acclaim and a multitude of awards including the Meteor Ireland Music Award, 3 BBC Folk Awards, Hotpress, Tatler Magazine and Big Buzz.
During this time Sam has worked in countless studios such as Abbey Road, British Grove, Assault & Battery, Real World, Konk, State Of The Ark, RAK, Livingston, and Rockfield.
Cara and Sam were first signed to Warners (1995-2000) and then the enviably hip Rough Trade Records (2000-2007) after which they formed their own label called Charcoal Records in 2008. Over the years Sam has performed on Disney soundtracks, numerous TV and Radio broadcasts and has created music for films and TV meaning he has only recently managed to find the time to produce other artists, most notably John Smith, who's albums with Sam have had over 100+ million streams.
